Problem
Farcaster Pro is the network's premium subscription tier, but it is only available through an annual subscription plan in the app. Users who preferred a lower upfront cost or more flexibility had no option to subscribe monthly, and there was no built-in way to gift a subscription to another Farcaster user.
Approach
Built as a Farcaster Mini App that integrates directly with the Farcaster Pro smart contract on Base. The subscription and gifting flows combine token approval, subscription purchase, and a small maintenance-fee transfer into a single EIP-5792 batched transaction, allowing users to complete the entire process with a single wallet signature. To simplify gifting, the app includes username-based recipient lookup, automatically resolving Farcaster handles to their corresponding FIDs. Once a subscription is successfully purchased or gifted, the system sends a Farcaster Direct Message, a push notification, and a public post from the bot account to confirm the transaction. To improve discovery, a mention webhook monitors posts containing 'Farcaster Pro' and automatically replies with a link to the application, helping users find the subscription and gifting experience directly from within the Farcaster feed.
Outcome
Launched a Farcaster Mini App on Base that simplifies Farcaster Pro subscriptions and gifting. Users can complete purchases with a single wallet confirmation, while automated DMs, push notifications, and celebratory casts provide real-time confirmation as soon as transactions are finalized.
